Announcement from The Office of Student Financial Aid
High priority

This is a friendly reminder from the Office of Student Financial Aid (FAO) of some important things we would like you to be aware of as we start processing FAFSAs for the 2019-2020 school year. First, if you have already submitted a FAFSA for the upcoming school year, THANK YOU for taking this important step towards completing your financial aid.

Also, below are some additional things to keep in mind:

  1. In an effort to expedite the awarding process, we will alert you via email or letter if your FAFSA is incomplete, or has been selected by the Dept. of Education for a process known as “verification.” Included in the correspondence will be any forms necessary to correct your FAFSA. Please keep a watch out for our request. The sooner we can finalize awards, the more likely everything a student is eligible to receive will still be available.
  1. Whether or not your FAFSA has been selected for verification, we will enter a Preliminary Award that you will be able to review. However, awards on MYWesley will not be official until after the spring semester grades have been posted
  1. Once awards are official, we will post a notice on MyWesley that you may now accept your awards with instructions on how to do so.
  1. Lastly, parents, whether approved or denied the Federal PLUS Loan in the past, must complete a new application each year at the website. Applications will open for the new school year in April 2019.

Success In STEM - SIS Program at Wesley College July 27 – August 16, 2019

The Success In STEM (SIS) program is a 3 week summer prep program before the beginning of the Fall semester. The program is designed to help prepare you for the intense chemistry, calculus, and scientific writing courses that you have as a STEM major (Biology, Biological Chemistry/Environmental Science or Policy/Mathematics/Medical Technology).

If you are interested in pursuing a Mathematics or Science degree, but have not yet decided on a STEM major, you can still qualify! This program is not only for incoming Wesley freshmen and transfer students, but also for those that could use assistance in your current Writing, Chemistry, or Math courses. By taking this program, you have a better chance at advancing to a higher level math course.

The program courses, housing, and meals are FREE, paid by Wesley and grant funding. The only cost you will pay is a $150 activity fee for fun trips and activities for you during the three weeks of the program.

What do you have to lose? Apply now! The early registration deadline is March 1, 2019 and there are only 25 seats available for this program.
