As neighbors and co-workers who live and work in the Delaware community, we each have a personal responsibility to contribute productively to the community. We dutifully carry out this responsibility in the way we consciously live our lives. Every choice and decision we make impacts the people and habitat of the community as a whole – not just ourselves. This includes our fellow human beings as well as the beautiful landscape we so often take for granted in our constantly busy lives. When was the last time you stopped to listen to the melodious song of a family of birds, or witnessed fresh dew on budding blossoms of a green, lush coastal forest?

Title: Green Man

My concept is a ghost forest with the fading face of an old man who represents the ancient spirit of the forest. This is also a reference to the 'green man' from ancient Rome. In the sky I've included the texture of salt crystal formations from dried human tears. My interpretation of this salinization phenomenon is that of having to say goodbye and the sorrow that comes with letting go of something or someone who is dear to your heart.
